Welcome to NIMC-EMS.com, the McHenry Western Lake County EMS system web site. The purpose of this web site is to provide a conduit for disseminating training materials and relevant EMS information, in a timely manner, to the various fire departments, private ambulance services and individual EMS personnel that comprises the McHenry Western Lake County EMS system. SWINE FLU UPDATE As we continue to hear more information on the developing Swine Flu situation, I thought it would be important to re-distribute the IDPH Guidance for EMS in the situation of wide-spread influenza. To quote President Obama “ there is a cause for concern, but we do not need to create panic”. Our approach to managing patients with Respiratory Symptoms and possible influenza is not any different from our daily practice of “universal precautions”. Remember the symptoms of Swine Flu are not any different from seasonal influenza. The attached guidance is designed to provide information to you and your providers regarding personal protection in providing patient care.
